Privacy policy

The short version

• We never sell your personal or health information, including your health searches.
• We don't use sensitive health searches for targeted advertising.
• You can search the directory without an account.
• You can ask us to delete any contact details you've given us.

Searching the directory

If you share your location, we use it only to sort results by distance and don't store it. Our servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability, for a limited time. We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate; we won't use your health searches to target ads to you.

The records request letter

The letter template on our medical records guide runs entirely in your browser. What you type into it is never sent to us or stored by us — when you leave the page, it's gone. If you arrive from a doctor's or hospital's page, your browser asks us for that office's public directory address, and nothing else.

Things you send us

• Waitlist. If you join the waitlist for our records service, we store your email address and, if you give it, your ZIP code — only to tell you when the service opens.
• Care Guide newsletter. See below.
• Corrections. If you report a listing error, we store your report to review it. Please don't include health information.
• Profile claims. If you're a provider claiming a profile, we store your name, role, work email, and NPI to verify your identity.

The Care Guide newsletter

If you sign up for our free monthly Care Guide, we store your email address, where you signed up (for example, a blog post or the site footer), the consent wording you agreed to and when, the times you confirmed or unsubscribed, and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address that we use only to investigate abuse. We use this only to send you the Care Guide and to prove you asked for it.

• Double opt-in. Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link we email you. Unconfirmed links expire after 48 hours.
• Never sold. We never sell, rent, or share your email address for others' marketing. Our email provider (Resend) processes it only to deliver our emails.
• Unsubscribe anytime. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and many mail apps show an unsubscribe button too.
• Deletion. To have your address deleted entirely rather than just unsubscribed, email contact@discoverpointmedical.com.

Information about providers

Provider and facility listings come from public government data about licensed professionals and organizations, primarily the CMS NPI Registry. Providers can ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
